Our Story

Our foundation in the HVAC service industry dates back to 2016, when Jodi began as a service department dispatcher for a well-established HVAC company, stepping into a management role from 2020 through 2024. Toby completed an HVAC apprenticeship and gained real-world knowledge working alongside technicians with 20+ years of field experience.

• What is the $5000 rule for HVAC?

  • ​This is a guideline for homeowners when needing to decide on repair vs replace their HVAC system depending on the age of their unit. We always want to check manufacture warranty. You want to multiply the age of your unit by the cost of the repair needed. If that end number is going to exceed the $5,000, then it may be more cost effective to replace the system.​​

• What is the most common HVAC problem?

  • The most common issue we come across is a dirty or plugged air filter. This restriction causes severly reduced air flow to the system, which can cause the interal components on both the indoor and outdoor units to over work. It can cause the system to ice up, higher energy bills and poor indoor air quality - leaving indoor air pollutants lingering. Remember to replace or clean your filter every 1-3 months during times of high usage. The shorter time will have factors such as where is your return air located in the home, pets, house locations etc.​

• How to find a good HVAC company?

  • While the number one way is to ask for referrals, we also recommend looking at Google Reviews, and even going as far and a few pages in to see what smaller companies are doing for their clients. Smaller companies have less overhead, so a lot of the time they are cheaper than larger companies, but smaller companies don't show as high on the list because they are building. Plus with smller companies, you tend to get a more "family" type feel.​

  • ALWAYS check WA State L&I - Verify Contractor Tool. This will tell you if that companie has had any violations, how many and if they have been resolved, as well as if they are current on General Liabilty Insurance and Bonds.

• How many years should an HVAC system last?

  • The range on this varies greatly. There are several key factors that will extend or shorten the life expectancy of an HVAC system. We typically say 12-15 years, but a system that is maintained regulary, filters changed regularly, has surge protection etc can extend that life expectancy drastically. We have seen system as old as 25 and 40 years still working fine.​
